But wait eeh, who started this thing that there’s freedom in Entrepreneurship?
Like when you ask wannabes this question.
Why do you want to become an entrepreneur?
You will get this chorus answer. “I want freedom” “I want to be my own boss and do what I want”
Wawa!
Entrepreneurs who are massively consumed by their Vision don’t really have freedom. They are caged by this vision. There’s this ambitious fire inside of them burning.
Most put in 16 hours+ of work daily
Most work 7 days a week
Most can work for 5 to 10 years without any social life or vacation
Most can work in the office for 3 to 5 days without going home
Most travel back to back without seeing their bed for days
Most forget to eat and barely get time to eat 2 times a day
This is typically the story of my life. The funny thing is I love this prison.
Is this really freedom? Or do we define freedom in different ways?
Is it the freedom that I can work on whatever project I want? Go anywhere I want? Do whatever that gives me fulfillment?
Are we really free? Or are we all caged by something? Do you love your cage?
Hear this, entrepreneurs are often driven by a desire to create something new and innovative, solve a problem, or fill a need in the market. This desire to create basically set them on fire for days, weeks, months and years.
They often have a vision of how their business can make a positive impact and may be motivated by the potential for financial success. Building and growing a successful business can be a challenging and time-consuming process, and entrepreneurs may become deeply invested in the success of their business as a result.
In some cases, entrepreneurs may also be driven by a sense of personal fulfillment or accomplishment that comes from building and growing a successful business. It is important to note that everyone is different and the reasons for an entrepreneur’s obsession with their business success may vary.
